9/17/2023 0 Comments Bitwarden chrome pluginThat YouTube downloader? That super special bargain search plugin? Yeah, sketch. That is really more a reflection on the security of your browser AND all the OTHER extensions you have installed. One says: Don't use browserplugins for pw managers, You should actually use both they serve different purposes. The app and browser extension are both safe to use. I don't like logging into the web page any more often than necessary touching your vault via browser window introduces another threat surface that neither the app nor the browser extension opens up. The picture and one part of it is the question: Web app, windows/android app, browser extension. But if you are following normal cybersecurity practices, it really isn't necessary. (I guess there is always one certain case why one or the other would have been the better choice. What is more secure: selfhost only in lan (can't spend too much time looking after it) or bitwarden's online service? Is there still a problem with acronis/bitwarden? Maybe there is still a good enough answer to that question?ĭon't use browserplugins for pw managers, the other one says: bw plugin is safe. I do know about the existence of a fine line between conveniece and security. Web app, windows/android app, browser extension. So i try to complete the picture and one part of it is the question: Now i learned about peppering, which is nice. ![]() I still learn about 2fa methods and yubikey. Some bug reports several years ago indicate that - but haven't found anything about a solution on one or the other part.) (But it did it also with other software packages. I installed once the windows app and acronis set an alarm on the bw exe. So i used keypass offline and got myself a paid bw account but i am still hesitating to use it.
